Carson and Elaina Tomicic founded The Wildland Project out of a deep connection to the wildland fire community—one shaped by years of service, family legacy, and firsthand experience.
Carson served as a Wildland Firefighter for over 11 years, much of that time as a handcrew Captain. Throughout his career, he met the high demands of the job while recovering from a work related back injury and navigating the mental health challenges that many in the field face.
Elaina is the daughter of a career Wildland Firefighter who dedicated more than 30 years to the job before his passing in 2001. Together, she and Carson have raised a family within the fire world and understand both the pride and the lasting impacts that come with that life.
The Wildland Project exists to honor and support the people behind the job—those who show up season after season. This community is built on deep bonds, shared sacrifice, and unwavering commitment. The Wildland Project follows that same commitment, standing alongside Wildland Firefighters and their families in every season, no matter how long their career may last.
Once a Wildlander, always a Wildlander.
