The Wildland Project (TWP) is a nonprofit organization actively pursuing 501(c)3 status. Our mission is to heal the invisible wounds of Wildland Firefighters and their families through equine connection, hoofbeats to heart.
The Wildland Project is dedicated to supporting the Wildland Firefighting community at every stage: helping individuals enter the career, navigate the challenges of day-to-day life on the job, and ultimately transition out in a healthy and sustainable way, for both themselves and their families.
No one understands the job and its challenges better than those who have experienced it first hand. Our team is made up of active, resigned, and retired Wildland Firefighters as well as wildland fire family members. We know the industry support has been reactive for far too long, we hear you.
The programs TWP offer are free, confidential, and accessible to all Wildland Firefighters, past and present, including seasonal, full-time, and volunteer responders. The Wildland Project also welcomes immediate family members, acknowledging the time spent apart during the season, allowing families to heal together.
You will be first to receive updates, announcements, and newsletters. Please check your inbox after signing up.
